Sorry if it has been covered, but did anyone ever follow up on using Big Game with this bullet? I just picked up a box of 200 grain bst's to try through my finicky .338 WM. I have Big Game on hand, but don't mind buying a pound of rl-15 if I need to.

I also have H4350, Hunter, rl-19, and a little bit of rl-17. Any idea which of those would be the next best option to try?

R-15 was the answer for me.
Mule Deer's recipe on the previous page is accurate and fast.
Went from the rifle I wanted to move down the road, to the first rifle out of the safe.

seven miller,

I tried Big Game with the 200-grain AccuBond, and the result were okay but not spectacular. Haven't tried it with the Ballistic Silvertip yet, partly because I only got some a month or two ago, and partly because my handloading/shooting time has been taken up with other projects!

I'm hoping it can do the same for me; except I can't move mine down the road because my grandfather gave it to me. It has an incredibly long throat, and the only way I can get it to shoot 225 accubonds worth a darn is if I seat them so long that they won't fit/barely fit in the magazine. and then the tips break during recoil. So I bought a box of the 200 grain Noslers and some 210 Barnes. Hopefully I can get one of them to shoot. If not, I guess I'll try some more bluntly tipped bullets that will be closer to the lands...

Thanks John. I just moved to Denver and there's a sportsman's warehouse on the north side with decent prices on powder. Looks like I'll go grab a pound of rl-15. Just need to find a new place to shoot.

Sold my 338 a couple of years ago and built a 338 06 Ackley. The old 338 mag shot the 200 BT so well I was concidering having a prairie dog gun made to shoot the 200s.... really. Trouble is, when I sold the gun... all my data went with it. POOP !! UUMM, I was using Accurate 2520 but I can't remember how much. That thing would shoot 1/2 " groups with the 200s all day long and was pushing 3000 fps and still had room for more. Now I use the 2520 in my CZ 22250 Pdog gun

ackley33806,
I have a 338/280 AI #1 with a 26" barrel.

With the 200 grain Combined Tech or BT, i load IMR 4064 and it trots easily on the heels of factory 338 mag stuff.
