What is your "accurate in all my guns" load for the 62 gr. TSX? I've only tried one powder with it so far, Ramshot Tac, and it is OK but I think this bullet should shoot better than 10 shots into 2 inches.
Going hog hunting in Feb. so got some time to try a few. The load I've got will work for sure but would like to see if I can dial it in some. If you don't want to post stuff like charge weights here that's fine, PM me, but I always work my way up in .5 grains anyway. I like powders that give a 95 -100+ capacity with the long bullet. Shooting it out of a wylde chamber.
What powders you have luck with?

Tac is my choice as well. Have you tried a magnum primer? Tac seems to prefer them

I did 25.5, 26, and 26.5 gr. of Tac. Went back to 26 cause I wasn't getting much of a velocity gain with the latter.
Still need to tweak o.a.l. and try the mag primer now.
Anything else?

Just play with OAL, although it may not matter that much, with a Wilde chamber you're probably at least .100" off the lands at max magazine length.
You could try Benchmark if you're willing to give up 100-200 fps.
Personally I've never found a really accurate load for this bullet in my AR15 rifles. 1:8 twist and Wilde chambers for me too, OAL restricted by the magazines. It shoots well enough for hunting, and will turn in the occasional sub-MOA group, but ~2 MOA is more common. If you figure out the secret formula, I'd like to know too.

you may want to try the 62 TTSX over your tac and back off a half a grain from max load, I use 26.5 grains in the nato chamber.

I have a hard time believing that a 62 won't shoot well. The first load of surplus powder I put under some many years ago was around an inch at 100 for 3 shot test/zero groups. That was just a wild guess group. Myabe I was lucky.
No matter you can't buy that powder anymore anyway...
I don't have many 62s but have intentions of buidling 2 vehicle guns that will use them as barrier rounds at least in my mind... if I ever get that far I'll let y'all know what I come up with too.
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

I would try Varget if I was you I'll second that motion. Try 25.0 - 25.5gr. Ed

Thanks all, those three powders are in stock here at Cabelas.
Since it's going to jump anyways to the lands, do you mostly seat the Barnes out to max or have you had luck changing it up?

Barnes says they like to jump. I've personally never found stellar accuracy from Barnes bullets but lots have and really like them. I want to say Barnes recommends loading .050" off the lands as a starting point but that's not always doable with ammo fed from magazines. I'd load them to 2.250" and work up your powder charge until you find accuracy.

Absolute luck changing it up. All my rifles but one, prefer a jump to the lands and not a little one.....

I shoot TSX's in 30, 277, 284, 25 & 6mm, & 223 calibers in bolt guns, besides shooting them in AR's.
In every single case in the bolt guns, the TSX shoots best close to the lands..........if I could get them close in an AR, that's where they'd be.
Lots of good powders, some guns are more picky than others but just about any of the powders mentioned so far could work fine in any given gun.

I think that swift said you could run 26 grains of cfe 223 in a 223 chamber at 223 pressure. hodgdon says you can load 25.9 grains in a 223 at 54000 psi for 3100 with the scirroco. Then again they say that you can load a 62 grain tac tsx to 3200 using 27 grains of cfe 223.

I am also planning a future pig hunt using the 62 gr ttsx, I am going to try cfe 223, Accurate 2520 and RL 15. Barnes has 5.56 data for 2520 and RL 15 but only 223 data for cfe 223, I figure I can add about an extra grain or so for 5.56 load, I am expecting cfe 223 to provide the highest speed, don't know about accuracy, have had mixed results with other bullets.

I'm loading the 62 gr ttsx with Accurate 2520 at around book max. It's roughly MOA at good, but not great velocity.
