“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.” ― Robert A. Heinlein

Concerning the difference between man and the jackass: some observers hold that there isn't any. But this wrongs the jackass. -Twain

I might be able to get to some of that if/when needed.
Except the sonnet thing.
I'd prolly do better at haiku or something shorter.

Founder Ancient Order of the 1895 Winchester
"Come, shall we go and kill us venison? And yet it irks me the poor dappled fools, Being native burghers of this desert city, Should in their own confines with forked heads Have their round haunches gored."

Belief gets in the way of learning. Love is that condition in which the happiness if another person is essential to your own. A generation which ignores history has no past and no future. Probably my favorite, No matter where or what, there will be makers, takers, and fakers. 7mm

Been quite a while since I thought of Heinlein, but he had many thoughts that the rest of us would be way better off remembering. Robert A Heinlein 7mm

My teacher said once that every man faces seven enemies in his lifetime. Sickness, hunger, betrayal, envy, greed, old age, and then death ...

RA Heinlein: The only author to my knowledge who gave his PROtagonist a lime pit in the middle of an escape tunnel, for which to dispose of Federal Agents.
Might have been something in there about predicted balkanization of America as well.
I think Heinlein was as prescient as was G Orwell.
This might be one of Heinlein's most poignant quotes. So obvious in this world today.
"You can sway a thousand men by appealing to their prejudices quicker than you can convince one man by logic." Robert A. Heinlein

Robert A. Heinlein is my all-time favorite fiction author. Some of his "fiction" is becoming non-fiction, though. Ed
