Looking for load data for the ZIP in the .45 ACP. My manuals dont have any information. A few people that I have found on the internet are using 4.5 to 5.8 grains with .200 grain bullets. The Ramshot guide has very limited info but shows a higher powder range. Several people stated that the Ramshot guide was not accurate for their ZIP powder? I am loading the 200 grain Sierra Gold Dot Jacketed Hollow Point
Perhaps I should have went with Bullseye?

I use Titegroup for .45 ACP. 4.5-5.0 gr with a 200 gr bullet. I would think the Ramshot guide would be your best bet, and it has worked for me with their rifle powders in several calibers - .223, .22-250, .243, .257 Wthby and .358 Win. I don't start at the top, though, of course.

I've used a number of Ramshot powders and the data they have on their website. I've been very happy with all them and their data. I don't have my loading log book as I'm away from home, but I seem to recall using 5.7 grs. of ZIP over a 200 gr. lead SWC for a very clean burning, accurate load. It is not for top velocity loads in the .45 ACP with jacketed, 200 gr. HP's. For that, try Silhoueete or True Blue. Silhouette is the cleanest burning powder I've ever loaded in a handgun. E

Thanks guys! I will give ZIP a try tonight. I do have the data from the Ramshot team and it is 5.8 - 6.4 grains. I am going to load 6.0 grains and build up a hundred rounds.

When testing a new powder, I like to try different charges varying about .3 grs. each. I've found some surprisingly accurate loads that way. Have fun. E
