Years ago my parents were having a family gathering at our house. Us kids were running around playing outside and in the basement, barn, just being kids. Seen but not heard. We ended up in the laundry room and I was about 11 or 12 at the time and I talked my female cousin into seeing if she would fit in the dryer. She was probably 5 at the time. She was reluctant but eventually crawled in. I closed the door and did not know that it was set to turn on. Anyhow I shut the door it started tumbling and she started screaming at the top of her lungs. I opened the door and was trying to get her out when the parents came in to see what was going on. I got in a pile of trouble and to this day 50+ years later when we go camping she will bring that experience while we are sitting around the campfire.

But I did get a call one night to a south Florida open air 24 hour laundromat. It was a chilly night, and there was a drunk curled up sleeping warm in one of the dryers. It only took a dime to roust him good.

about mid 70's when i was about 10 .i was not there .but my 9 year old brother was helping my 6 year old sister into the dryer . she wanted too , mom as she tells the story ,said those kids are too quite i better go see what they are doing .she caught them just as brother shut dryer door on sister ,. sister was mad at mom for long time ,she wanted to ride the merry go round lol.. mom always brought this up ,sister just rolls her eyes lol
