Awesome and good job on that sucker.
It's the only WI deer I know of taken this year lol. Haven't seen a single on on cars this year.

I will say it’s been slow. Not much for shots at all! Yesterday was the most we’ve heard so far.
This is the only buck our crew saw.

Nice one.
That is one more than we saw at Camp Isabella.

I heard the MN deer kill was down like 23% from last year. Which was 35% lower from the year before.
TJay I walked miles up there at the end of October looking for grouse and barely saw a deer track let alone a deer.

I hunted between Finland and Isabella (along West Grade) a couple seasons, back around 2006. Never saw anything! You are a much more stubborn person than I am, TJay!
Still apply for black bear preference points often, though. One of these days I'll have time to spend September up there. Sure is beautiful in the fall. And the grouse!
Yep.

Every time I go up there to grouse hunt all I can think about is “I should have brought a boat.” Lol

Tzone, good use of the 760. Nice when they fall over like that.

Heh. I feel that. Gotta walk 5 miles twice over to see a mile of high ground 😁
Yep.

We had deer on the cameras up to Sept. 15th. Then they just disappeared. Our hope is the logging in the area will help. Look to be moving camp a couple miles if the cameras show deer in the new cuts.

You have a camper camp you can move to different areas based on camera results?
Yep.

If you’re by the logging I bet I was close to your camp when I was up grouse hunting. Closed out the WI season today. Shot a doe yesterday evening. That was the only 2 we got for this season. It was a good season with a lot of hunting, mostly good weather and a few deer sighted. More than some, less than most but it was good friends and family in the woods. Perfect!

Hey congrats, Tom. I haven't been out muzzle loader hunting yet, I may go this coming weekend. Poor rifle season for us at the chickenbuck camp. Nate did well hunting with his inlaws though. He broke the 200 lb mark with this one, 207.5 lbs on the hanging scale.
Something clever here.

Congrats to Nate Dave - that's a great buck. Didn't see anything like that at all this year over by us.
Have a feeling our best shot - 80 acres we hunted that was owned by my uncle will be lost in his coming divorce so it might be back to shooting deer with little knife handles for antlers.

tzone - if asking me, no.
My camp is on 120 acres. Woodland and the deer quality isn't super. Too many violators around and I think we let too much of the property get too mature. Did some logging this summer, doing more this spring to get some new growth come up. Should be excellent for grouse too.
4.7 miles down the road my uncle has 80 acres that butt up against 2 different farms. Deer quality is much better and I've seen some monster deer there. The type where you can see their rack with the naked eye at 300 yards. (just 300 yards on the wrong side of the fence - SOBs)
He's getting divorced and I think will lose the property or be forced to sell it to pay my former aunt. People in the area have already offered him more than I can on it.

You'll see me on OnlyFans selling feet pictures before I give up on the camp and land. Over my dead body does that place get sold.
