Looks good EB, makes me a little homesick. It's up near 60 here today, put on my shorts and wife beater and did a little yard cleanup.

Just in time for the below freezing temps and 7-8 inches of snow forecast for Tuesday-Wednesday. It is about time to go online and order some seeds though.

Soil is too wet to turn here!
Dug some in the garden yesterday and it was just short of mud even with lots of organics in the soil!

Are you turning that now so it will still have time to freeze thaw "loosen" the soil?

I would have plowed it in the opposite direction.

And cleared every tree for 100 ft

And cross hatched plowed

Added 9000 lbs of lime
Yes cross plowed too.

Gotta make sure to kill my back so it seems like I did something.

No to the tree clearing though. I am a fan of shade. Need that to rest under when I go hoe my weeds.

And you have the wrong kinda dirt you will have to replace every bit of it ifin you want to plant stuff.

I know because my Uncles Friends Wife's Sister in-law's Cousin told me so.

3" snow last night, maybe 28*F.

45*F now, sunny, 20+mph wind out of the north, ,most of the snow melted and making a swamp of everything around here. NO gardening yet. Will likely get down around 15*F tonight and freeze everything again.

Fresh topsoil turned smells nice. Put it in a pile and bust it open next year, it smells like hog chit. I never really understood the difference.

I've been planting kale, collards and broccoli in April. A little snow won't hurt those.

Looks like a good spot. Will be a few more weeks around here. But fresh plowed dirt smells soooo good.

I need to try some of that stuff too. Be nice to get something started with some cold resistance.

They have really small seeds, best to start those indoors and then set them out. Hard to get them to come up reliably otherwise. LED grow lights are cheap these days

Got to let the freeze thaw action work for a few weeks I’ll be mid April before I do anything else in there
