They build steam by the folks that don’t leave the couch…

If you can’t find groceries…
A) you are too picky.
B) you aren’t looking.

Folks love to portray superiority through the good they buy..

Blah blah blah.

Our local has 1# bacon for $2.99 this week. Probably get several pounds. They run this sale about every 6 weeks.

Sometimes same price on the Jimmy Dean but like you say, 12 oz packages which is still better than some of that $8 a pound stuff.

Waiting on that $.99 pork butt sale again. Usually buy 100#.

I think he was looking at all the glass jars that come from China. Pickles are just a small fraction of all the stuff that's packed in glass. If glass became unavailable, the stores would lose half their inventory.

Would also mean viable alternatives to glass jars simply aren't available? Like plastic or bags?

They're made from OIL! And, there's a big push to get rid of plastics in the environment.

China has a packaging industry all of it's own. They specialize in plastics. Too bad they don't also include tools to open the damn things.
However, they know how to get rid of the plastic waste:

Plastics are a terrible alternative. I’d like to see the amount of plastic reduced by 95%+. It’s way over used and it’s extremely harmful to life. It’s being tied to various cancers and it just doesn’t biodegrade. Our oceans and waterways are being choked of life from plastic.

We have the technology and ability but we’d rather tilt at windmills and surcharge our way to suicide.

It's a special recipe, it just requires a pinch of fact to get a bite then they pour in mountain's of bullschit.

Works well for those peddling politics and religion.

Plastic is also being attributed to low testosterone and decreased taint size in young men. It's estimated the average American now consumes between 1/2 to a whole credit card equivalent a month in micro plastics found in our food. Tucker Carlson wrote a new book about it.

That’s even scarier than I imagined but unfortunately it’s completely believable. I really don’t understand how people can become so obsessed with one narrative like “global warming”….of which they’re powerless to change but they’ll ignore something significant and every bit as important like our misuse and abuse of plastic…of which they are NOT powerless to change?
