I don't know if this is legit or not. Take it for what you think it's worth. He lists 20 food items that he says will become very expensive in the near future and the reasons for it. Much of it is from problems in China. Examples: pickles - because of a shortage of glass jars oatmeal - crop failures pork - because of a labor shortage to process it frozen snack foods - this would be a sign that Americans rely too much on buying everything heavily processed and ready to eat.

every grocery store has been short on product for years now. I usually shop three different stores to even find reasonable alternative products to what used to be right there on the shelf in all stores.

I think he was looking at all the glass jars that come from China. Pickles are just a small fraction of all the stuff that's packed in glass. If glass became unavailable, the stores would lose half their inventory.
