Is this an Echols pattern McMillan stock? I've never handled an Echols stock but sure looks McMillan to me and the lines look like pictures I've seen of the Echols pattern. Thanks. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/965499336

Or maybe a Rimrock? The more I look at it, I think maybe its a Rimrock.

It’s a McMillan G&H pattern; long discontinued.

Good to know. Not sure I remember McMillan doing that pattern. Kind of glad it’s not a Rimrock.I’ve handled a couple of original G&H rifles but don’t remember the stocks.

That one has been on there for some time. I've thought about it numerous times. Let us know how it is when you get it.

Should be great. Looks like a good one. DMD, if you bought it, keep us posted. Thanks.. As for the stock, it's not an Echols, but still nice. Looks like it has more drop at the comb than an Echols.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

It is on the way. Wondering how I will like the G&H pattern stock. I felt like at that price I was paying for the late 1940s action converted to a magnum and the McMillan stock. Will keep ya'll up-to-date.

Looks like a very nice rifle. I think you did well on the price tag. You couldn't have one built for that price. When I buy one like this, I always take it apart in my mind and price everything out. If it looks like all the parts add up to more than the asking price, I'll buy it. How many 338wm's do you have? That is my favorite elk hunting cartridge... Hopefully they glass bedded it really well and it's a tack driver...

But a member on the fire has a certain .280 I’m hungering for. I couldn’t tell if that rifle has been coated or not. Looks pretty clean!

Looks like it's been reblued and the crown touched up. Probably a great shooter. Rifling looks great at the muzzle end. Seller says rifling in the bore looks great as well. I'll be watching that one, to see what it sells for. The one DMD bought looks like it's definitely been coated. Probably cerakote. Nice rifle though. The Brown would probably mitigate recoil a little better than the Mcmillan, but both rifles are still very nice. I'd be happy with either one.

High 300k on it from what I can tell. I think mines a 458xxx.

The McMillan G&H stock is really nice! A buddy of mine ordered one a few years ago(like 20 years ago😁) for his Model 70 before they discontinued that pattern.
I remember handling it and thinking it was really slick!
I own 2 Echols Legend stocks myself and they are great stocks! I believe the G&H is very similar….maybe a little more narrow in the forend and grip than the Echols.
I think you’ll be pleased.

That should be a very useful rifle! Looking forward to seeing what you think of it.

Has anyone tried to order a stock from Echols lately?
