Great story. Family hunting together . . . Does it get any better???
Great Pics.
Surely you were in two canoes for all of that.
If ya don't buy the jetboat, then make a quick connect system to make the canoes into a catamaran.

My family loves the out of doors but no takers to hunt with me. I would be hunting by myself as the girls fished in the river and hung out at camp!

I took the same two kids on the same hunt a couple years ago. Without my wife we had extra room and I was able to just tie a canoe to the back of the one that I was paddling. I think next time we may do that. Certainly spreads the load.

I appreciate all the kind words. I have always liked this style of post when other guys did it and thought it would be a fun way to share the trip. Glad you guys enjoyed it. Like a lot of guys I have some larger scale hunts I am planning and looking forward to but it is pretty cool to know that for a few bucks worth of gas and groceries a guy can create some million dollar memories.

Congrats! When the wife says she wants a jetboat, buy her a jetboat! Hired a guide on the Skeena river in NW BC. He had a small center console aluminum boat with a 115 Yamaha outboard with a jetleg. I fantasized about a boat like that for moose hunting. Not much for creature comforts, but it would work great for trips like yours. This boat is obviously not a center console and it is (believe it or not) more luxurious than the one the guide had. http://www.silverstreakboats.com/boats/16-open-boat-challenger/

I now have a new all-time favorite hunt account on the campfire. Great adventure! And thank you for bringing us along. Oh, and plus 1 on the jet boat - if mamma wants a jet boat.........

Such a great trip!! Having been in similar country last year last year, I'm thinking a float hunt would be quite the adventure for my two boys. Might have to put that into the planning mill...

To me, family hunts are the best type. I don't belong to a hunting site to beach and gripe, brag about my dog, bad mouth politicians, or compare paint jobs. I come here to hunt, to learn, to pass on knowledge, and to relate to the entire hunting experience. I come here for threads like this one. Thank you for including us in your journey.

the only real difference between a good tracker and a bad tracker, is observation. all the same data is present for both. The rest, is understanding what you're seeing.
