Eagles fan here and that was a hell of a game. That last PI call was pretty questionable and if the Eagles got the ball back down 3 with 1:30 mins left to play and 2 timeouts that game could of turned out a lot differently. Hats off to the Chiefs and they played a good game, but its sad to see a game decided by a BS PI call like that.

The player involved, disagrees with you:

Mahomes I believe overthrew that pass to draw the flag.

That call was a payback for them reversing that fumble for touchdown earlier.

Smart play by Pasevos?? stopping at the one yard line to let them run out the time.

Bingo.

Refs gave Eagles 7 earlier when they were 3rd and long. In the snap count 2 on the Eagles line started pulling back prematurely. Drew the Chiefs to move. Penalty. Off sides charged to Chiefs. First down for Iggles. Led to TD.

The iggles got away with that type false start several times.

Several false starts not called on Eagles. That said it was a great game. Two best teams and arguably the two best QBs. Glad to see the Chiefs take it. Ignored some of the rest of it. Mainly halftime show.

same guy says

TFF !! !

Was best part of your night Booing the winner of the Walter Peyton award like other classy Eagles fans? Not that everyone doesn't hate the woke crap....and half time which I skipped and ended up missing the opening KC drive in 2nd half.

Brady may own GOAT title but the league has never seen anything like Patrick Mahomes before.

I picked KC but had no dog in the fight. Getting by all other AFC teams and great QB's seemed a harder test.

I'd sure like a dose of whatever Mahomes took at halftime. He could barely walk going in at halftime and came out floating on air.

It was a great game right up until "the call". It would have been fun to see if Butker could make the field goal and then see if the Eagles could have tied it or won. At that point there was over 2 minutes left.

I have not watched much NFL for quite a few years. I watched the first Super Bowl while in basic training at Lackland AFB and decided I would check one out one more time. I enjoyed the game especially because the Chiefs won. What I didn't enjoy was the halftime show! In my opinion lt sucked Big Time! I kept wondering when the music would start and Rihanna (whoever the hell that was) and those other performers would quit whatever they were doing . I guess it was "rap music" ??

I am pretty sure I won't watch any more of that crap--especially the woke schit just to see a football game,

I realize the first game wasn't called the Super Bowl, but I watched it anyway just to get a break in basic training for a few hours.

GO CHIEFS !!!!!!!

It’s a shame about the called back touch down.

I believe his name was Brooks?

He might have been MVP?

Think of the $$$ that call cost him.

Watched it with a great group of guys and gals. Won 1600 w the chiefs. One of the guy's kids played briefly in the league. He said that they give a local of pain meds and cortisone to the players. For everyone bitching about the game, you obviously didn't watch it. Sure it was all woke but the game itself was awesome. The pi call at the end was sketchy. Played cards before the game and during halftime so I barely even noticed the wokeness.

It was a great game.

The Chiefs’ offensive and defensive lines dominated the game protecting Mahomes and keeping Hurts on the run.

Well played and the Chiefs deserved the win.

The rest of the bs attached to the game, not so much at all.

“It was a holding. I tugged his jersey. I was hoping they would let it slide."

James Bradberry has class enough to admit it. No matter how close the call was, Bradbury himself placed the outcome in the referee's hands. Bradbury could have 100% relied on his skills to make the play, but he chose to involve the referee and it didn't work out. The best thing Bradbury could hope for is, 'It was a holding. I tugged his jersey. I was hoping they would let it slide...and they did.'

Very good game, I’m no eagles fan but I did like the aggressive play calling on their part. I told my wife whoever has the ball last would win the game.

Excellent post! Good for Bradberry! What I can't understand are the people who say, "Yeah, he held him, but they shouldn't call it in this situation," WTF? It's a penalty all season long, why shouldn't it be one now? This isn't the NCAA Basketball Tournament. (Yes, they MISS plenty of penalties all year, but they don't LET THEM GO.)

Not an Eagles fan either, and although Patrick Mahomes deserves all the accolades, he was outplayed by Jalen Hurts.

Jalen dropped one for - 7.

Owwwww

That Hurts!

( it didn’t seem to be a forced fumble……more like a muff from not being prepared or nervous)

It wasn't PI, it was a holding call and it WAS a holding call. Not the worst one ever, but if the refs spot you with a fistful of jersey, they get to call it and you don't get to complain about it. Which the Eagles' player admitted.

Well, there is that.

Funny no iggles fans can admit that a reciever catching a pass, turning and starting to run downfield with 3 or 4 steps and football moves and then is hit and fumbles is really not a completion and fumble.

What dishonesty is required not to admit the Refs stole 7 from the Chiefs?

The best thing about the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl is that their very name triggers the woke.

What really cost Eagles the game is their inability to defeat the KC O-Line. Eagles defense wasn’t a factor at all. All the defensive hype was just that. Chiefs average 6.1 yds per rush. Mahomes had QBR of 96.6 out of 100 for the game. That is the highest ever for a QB in a SB. His QBR in the 2nd half alone was 99.4.

BTW, that second Eagles fumble returned and then reversed was absolutely a fumble. Ball was definitely caught and tucked/held, then separated from the hit.

The FOX rules guy (ex head of officials) said it wasn't a catch/fumble - incomplete pass.
The officials reviewed and came to same conclusion.

There's what fans think are the rules, and there is the letter of the law.
The correct call was made after review and by the letter of the law.

Blaming the ref makes about as much sense as blaming/ not blaming the kicker!

Both entities have tremendous variables that rely on chance.

The correct call was made after review and by the letter of the law.

About 5 minutes after that there was an Eagles sideline pass that the receiver was bobbling on the way out of bounds and it was ruled a completed catch.

Hey, don't rely on your lying eyes. That's what they got the refs for. whistle

That holding call was shaky. Yeah he did it, but safeties hold like that, and worse, on every pass play.

The Eagles had an unbelievable QB sneak. They ran it on 3rd and 1, they ran it on 4th and 2, they ran it six times, and made it every time. I think one TD was a 2 yard QB sneak.

That guy who "slid in safe" on the 2 yard line is a genius. I wonder if Mahomes told him to do that or if he thought it up himself. Think about it, he turned down a Super Bowl touchdown.
For consolation, he does have a Super Bowl ring.

That call comes from the HC but everyone on both sidelines knew that should happen. The announcers chatted about it prior to the play.
If he walks it in there, Eagles get the ball with more than a minute left (and with a timeout) and if they go down and score, they can put the dagger in the heart of the Chiefs with a 2pt conversion.

Andy Reid is an OG and a genius.

I was at a loud party so I didn't hear it being discussed. But when the play started, I told the guys "Look, the Eagles are gonna let him score!"

I was a good game. I didn't have a favorite. BTW, I didn't watch it on TV. Had the car radio on.

Long time Chiefs fan here... glad they won for sure but I had a hard time making any predictions before the game. I just didn't know enough about the Eagles in detail other than they had the best record this year in the NFL and were thought to be a pretty consistent, well-balanced team on both sides of the ball. Contrast that with the Chiefs who always seem to have a knack for lapses in their defense, playing from behind or letting seemingly inferior teams back into games, often at home, and needing to win games at the very end, often in theatrical fashion... which came back to bite them several times this year. Add to that Mahomes less than perfect ankle and a bevy of injured receivers and I just never could make a bold call on this one!

I thought fans were rewarded with a great game which is all a fan can really ask for. For me personally, the only one that comes to mind recently that was maybe more entertaining, particularly at the end, was the Giants/Patriots game.

I hate to see the "controversial" ref calls at the end of close games, especially given the way Hurts and the Eagles had been moving the ball/scoring earlier in the game. It did seem to me that there were four of those calls made or changed, in my mind two for the Chiefs and two for the Eagles so it kind of balanced out in my mind. The Chiefs defense holding off the Eagles for the last two minutes would have only added to the joy/validity of the Chiefs winning for me personally but I will take it anyway!!!

The winners and losers last night were separated by very little last night. Too bad there has to be a loser but... no performance to be ashamed of for sure on both sides of the ball. The general NFL fan was the ultimate winner which is what "entertainment" is supposed to be all about... right! Same thoughts on the MVP award... had to go to Mahomes for many reasons BUT cannot discount the performance of the O-line, D-line and backers, Kelse (as usual), and others in their individual moments, even Harrison Butker!!! He has been a great kicker for the Chiefs overall but had his "moments" this year... glad it ended up on a high note for him, too.

Elated for my team the Chiefs, a little sad for the Eagles, go figure! Gettin' soft I guess as I get older.

Reminder to self: It is just a game.

Will add... as to entertainment value, I decided to pass on the halftime show. It had no value to me. Nothing personal against Rhianna, I just don't relate to her and her type. Glad America still has room for both of us and I really hope that can last for awhile for kids, grandkids, and so on.

Yup...
Perfect clock management. When Mahomes got the ball back with five minutes left I was yelling at the screen for him to slow the fűck down, he could have easily scored leaving two or three minutes left
Then they threw the short pass and the reciever went out of bounds after getting the first down. I'm thinkin what the fűck are you doing... 😁

And to think they were questioning Andy Reid's decision to defer receiving the ball until the second half right from the start given the Eagle's propensity to score on the first possession forcing other teams to play from behind right from the start. Hindsight is always 20/20 for sure but to Andy's credit, he is consistent and did believe in his team. Playing from behind, particularly in the second half is what the Chiefs do!!!

Packer's fan, so I don't have any vested interest in (or hatred for) the Chiefs or Eagles, but I was happy that Ndamukong Suh didn't get another ring. I remember his days with the Lions, and he was just a dick player.

That was a smart move, for sure. A buddy stood to win $10k on his football pool, though, if he would have scored and the Chiefs made the extra point. He was pretty deflated to see his chances for ten grand evaporate, with that slide. He handled it well, but I could tell it stung!

Dumbest thing I read all day. The only thing truly great about the Eagles last night was their QB

I’m not a big NFL fan but my wife is. So I watch some games. This was the best Super Bowl that I’ve seen. We actually went to SB VIII in Houston. Miami routed Minnesota.
I don’t recall ever watching a half time show, including this one. The commercials that I saw sucked.
And as far as that holding call that essentially iced the game, it was close, but since the player admitted it, he was holding. And not calling a penalty cause it’s late in the game and might impact the outcome of the game is BS. If you don’t want the penalty called late in the game, don’t commit the infraction.
And it’s only a game.

Because you would not recognize a QB if you saw one. Chiefs plan was to make Hurt a QB , it worked.
