Back when I still owned a .405 Winchester rifle, I bought and shot a lot of them. They are (or at least were) a semi-custom bullet maker, offering multiple jacket thicknesses on the same weight bullet to control expansion. At the time I was using them, they would also make a complete custom bullet to your specifications.

The rifle has been gone for almost 20 years now and I can't say what they are doing currently, but I was impressed with their quality when I was using their bullets.

I shoot them in a few old Mannlichers and Mausers. They are plenty accurate and perform well on game.

The recovered bullet in the pic below was removed from a black bear shot at close range, MV 2200 fps.

Been a few years since placing an order with them, but they were always pleasant and quick to ship.

I have a bit of a wildcat. It is a #1 Ruger 405 that has been re chambered. The brass has gone from 2.5 to 3.25 inches long. It will push a 300 grain bullet around 2650 and a 400 grain around 2400 fps. So I am looking for .411 bullets that will work at greater speeds than what were made for the 405. I note that Hawk has a different way of thinking about bullet construction that most makers do.
The bullet TeeBone showed looks to have been perfect performance. Just wondering how it would have done going 400fps faster.

I have used them for years in my 416 Taylor with great success. I like the fact that I can get 300 grain bullets with thinner jackets that turn my rifle into a suitable deer rifle. When I have called them they have always been pleasant to deal with and my last order came earlier that expected.

What are you guys getting for accuracy, about par with other cup and core bullets??

I'm looking at getting some for my .350RM since every other suitable 225 grain .358 bullet is out of stock.

I find the Hawk bullets just as accurate as any other bullet from my rifle.

I bought Hawk bullets to try in my 350 RM. They were the most inaccurate bullets I've tried. I gave the bullets away to someone here on the Fire.

Ditto. I bought some 300gr for a .404 Jeffery "deer bullet". Needless to say, they work...

I need to get off my ass and order some .356" for a 9x57R.

I've used .308 RT .030 jackets in a .308 Win. and .429 275gr. SPTZ .025 jackets from a H&R Handi rifle in 444 Marlin.

In my guns they were accurate and performed well on deer and pigs.

I agree, they're a soft jacket and soft core bullet that has it's place. Dennis at Fury Custom Bullets really likes Hawk Bullets! He's gotten more business from their unsatisfied customers than any other bullet company. 😆
