My nephew has a Model 99 Chambered in .308 that my brother left him and we're wondering if someone here could give us an idea of the D.O.M. for this rifle??
In case someone is able to help, the serial# is C-309751
Thanx in advance for your help!
P.S. We knkow it's "new" enuff that the "old guy who keeps the records" won't be of any assistance in nailing down the age of the rifle

I'd estimate it was made in late 1976 since #C-383,xxx was made in February of 1977.
It's smart to hang around old guys 'cause they know lotsa stuff...
