[quote=Puddle]My loads for a M70 24" barrel, full length bedded, 3lb trigger. All these loads shoot 5 shot groups 1" or better @ 100 yards:
Speer 200 gr. JFN - LR Primer, 67 gr. H4895, tickles 2,800 fps MV
Speer 235 gr Hot Cor SP - LR Primer, 73 gr. H4895, tickles 2,800 fps MV
NAB 260 gr, - LR Primer, 69 gr. RL15, tickles 2,650 fps MV
Hornady 270 gr. SP - LR Primer, 75 gr. RL15, ~2,750 fps MV, 0.030" off the rifling, probably my most accurate load
Swift 270 gr. A-Frame - LR Primer, 74 gr. RL15, ~ 2,700 fps MV, 0.030" off the rifling
Hornady 300 gr. RN - LR Magnum Primer, 77 gr. H4350, Compressed load, ~2,550 fps MV, ~1" groups. Switch to LR Primer, ~3/4" groups.
Woodleigh 350 gr. PP - LR Magnum Primer, 68.5 gr. H4350, ~2,250 fps MV. Load data supplied by Woodleigh.
Thanks for posting that. I’m in the process of loading up some 235 TSX for elk. I really want tp get them as close to 3K as possible.

You betcha. Just recently restocked my stash of 235 grainers.
Been limiting the use of my 200 gr. PD load as I can't find the Speer's anywhere and the Sierra equivalent is $1+/boolit ...

Bump to the top! Just recently picked up my first 375H&H. A nice lefty Sako AV Deluxe and got all my reloading supplies. Found 4 boxes of 270tsx at my local shop(very surprised), 2 boxes of 260 accubonds, 2 boxes of 260 ballistic tips, 3 boxes of Speer 285 grand slams and 1 box of 300 Aframes. Got RL15, 16, and 17, Varget and H4350 so looking to develop a few loads. The 270TSX for my first African trip next year and plan on taking it this fall to Texas to get her bloodied up on an axis and some whitetails at home. Probably use the 260 ballistic tips on axis and whitetails.

Back when I had a 375HH, I used a 235gr TSX over 78.5gr of RL15 and a CCI LRM primer. MV was just a hair over 2900.

Another vote (but not many shown in the thread) for Varget. 63-64 grains, Fed 215 Mag, and 270 XLC, TSX, along with 300 TSX and Banded Solids have all done very well in the Dakota 76. There are faster loads but this one is nice to shoot and none of the critters could tell it wasn’t a max load...

CFE223 using latest Speer data for 270 grain bullets. Increased charge until I got 2725 then stopped. Not maximum in my rifle.

My own favorite is my “plinker” load. It is the 220 grain FN from Hornady over 74 grains of RL15....about 2800 fps. Winchester M.70 Express.

So far I’ve loaded up 270 interlocks and 285 Speer Grand Slams with 76gr of Win760. Heard 760 is a good powder and got a few pounds so fingers crossed. Will test em out shortly to see how they do. Plan on taking which ever one shoots better to Texas for axis. Gotta get the new gun bloody!

78 grains of reloaded 15 with a 250g ttsx is a good one.

My last .375 liked H414, fairly stiff loads, behind Hornady or Speer 270 grain bullets. I wanted it to like H4350 behind 260 grain accubonds but it did not cooperate.

I started load work in my Ruger No. 1 with Varget and RE15 and had such good results I haven't tried anything else. 70 - 71 gr of either with 270's shoots about the same and accuracy is very repeatable. Final 100 yd site-in and I haven't shot it on paper since:

Thanks Guy - I have several similar targets from that rifle. It amazes me how consistently it shoots this well...

You're ready for all the plains game of Africa DF! good shooting. Gun’s ready, for sure. Not so sure about me. That bullet is pretty amazing. I’ve read some PH’s like these Raptors. DF

DF LOL! you best get over there and lay some loin on the grill DF, what a great and unique place, not to derail the thread too much, but lighter monos, solid or these that shear are "bad through the bone" stuff, i dont know the dates, grades, expiry or anything else about both soft and hard body armor a bud brought out to the farm last year, plus, iirc a block of 1.5" laminated bullet resistant glass, well, guess what ate all three for supper? Dinky 90gr Lehigh Defenders from my 357 Sig, velocity runs near 1700 fps over Longshot in the big P226 Sig, barrier blind and ready to go to work, old buddy kept shaking his head!
