I would bet that the political situation in Ukraine is much more oppressive than in Russia these days. Moldova doesn't seem to be an overly oppressive government, but the government is corrupt and has looted the country. I can see Moldova choosing to rejoin Russia. Belarus never really left, although it has a separate government.
The big transition will occur when Western Europe has had enough of the globohomo agenda. I doubt if it will ever join Russia. But it's definitely going to want to reopen trade with Russia just because of the energy situation.
Basically, Western Europe is going to get very tired of getting jerked around by a globalist entity that doesn't represent Western Europe's best interests.
They are going to get real tired of hunger and cold.

Bristoe - I agree that Ukes are leaving and have left Ukraine for a while. I just kinda wonder if "all those who would leave - have left" already. I get it - war likely changes that calculus but this isn't week or even month 1 of the war. It's been there a while now.
I'd think that it's unlikely to see large amounts of Ukrainian people deciding now that it's time to go to Russia.
It's an interesting question, if we had left Canada to start the US instead of England - how many would have moved North to side with Canada, well into the fighting.
The Ukranian people are victims of globohomo. They're not stupid. They know it. Now that Putin has offered to fast track them out of globohomo via citizenship to Russia, they'll be lining up.
It's true that Ukranians can be refugees in many places. But being a refugee is decidedly secondary to citizenship.
Bottom line,...the east is ascending and the west is in free fall. Those Ukranians who know what time it is will jump at the opportunity for Russian citizenship.
