Guys, I need some advice on aftermarket chokes for # 4 buckshot. I know every shotgun patterns differently but at $80 to $100 per choke I would like to narrow down the choices to a couple. Please include the amount of restriction.
I use a Carlson's brand "Coyote" extended choke. I believe its .665 or .660 in 12 gauge. It patterns very well with 4 buck in a 26" barreled Rem 870. If you search on Ebay you can find barely used ones on the cheap. I picked up a Carlson's Longbeard XR on there for $25. It was out of the package but you wouldn't know it from new.
I use a Jebs on my turkey gun. Might give them a call and see if they can give you good advice. I’ve had my choke for several years but back when I bought it he said if I wasn’t satisfied he’d take it back and let me try something else. Never had to though.
