Just picked up a Rem 700 ML that is in great condition. Gave it a thorough cleaning and no rust or pitting in the bore. Took it to the range today and put about 15 rounds down range. I see that there are a few different conversions kits for these. Can someone give me some insight on what conversion kit to look at? If I could use large rifle primers, I have a large stockpile of them.

I have a couple off them, my first was mint as you describe yours above. I went to arrowhead rifles and got the bolt nose kit and his 209 breech plug. It turns the 700ml into a sealed action with no blowback (I shoot left handed so that was a must). I shoot the Fury 320gr universal with blackhorn 209, if I do my part it will put 2 in the same hole at 100 yards. For the Large Rifle primer kits you would be looking at his smokeless breech plugs that would also require a bolt nose and firing pin upgrade. Finding someone that is willing to work on the older 700mls is getting fewer and further in between with most builders preferring the centerfire actions. I did send off a 700ml back in the fall to McGowen with a 209 arrowhead plug. I got it back and after break in I am very pleased with the results if you are wanting to go smokeless. The other popular bolt nose kit is badger ridge I dont have any experience with them but they have a goo following.
