Texas Cole Slaw (Jude's)

Dressing

½ Cup Mayonnaise
1-11/2 Tbs Vinegar
½ tsp Tabasco Sauce
1 Garlic Clove Minced
¼ Cup Chopped Onion
½ tsp Salt

Slaw

¾ pound Cabbage Shredded
1 Green Pepper or ½ Green Pepper and 2 Jalapenos for heat
½ Red Pepper
1 tsp Caraway Seeds
1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes

Mix and let stand in refrigerator for 12 hours for maximum flavor.

The (completely unconfirmed) story I got was that after the Colonel sold out for $6 million (quite a lot of money for those days), the corporation that took over thought the "11 herbs and spices" were too costly and too complicated to put up with.

Supposedly, they switched to a simple mix of MSG and black pepper. Some people who actually tried it out say they can't tell the difference between chicken cooked with those two ingredients and chicken straight from the KFC store.
