The NFL is registered as an Entertainment Industry and as such is much like the WWE, and free to MODIFY THE OUTCOME. It's a money making Entertainment Business and not a Sports Business. All spectator sports are entertainment Captain Obvious. Even T-Ball played by 8 year olds. Everybody has known that for well over 100 years. But with the exception of exhibition teams like the Harlem Globetrotters, the Savannah Banana's and a few others the competition is real. Sure, there have been individual players or ref's who may have an attempted to throw a game, but the league isn't trying to manipulate the outcome.
Late in the season, in meaningless games, there are coaching and play calling decisions that are often made to pad players stats in order for them to reach certain incentives. I have personal friends who have played professionally in football, baseball or basketball. They call BS on the games being rigged.
Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

Maybe read the article, dumbass, and get a bit of a clue.
You will find out the NFL is registered as an Entertainment Industry for tge same reason the WWE is.

If the NFL is free to alter the results of the games, how does that fit with the legalities of sports betting? Can you imagine the money a hacker could make by getting into an NFL computer and finding out the results of upcoming games?
Sin wouldn't be so attractive if the wages were paid immediately.
