Just finished adream hunt for moose in Alaska with Rogue Expeditions. Cant say enough about the outfit and my guide Joe and wrangler Joshua.
Killed this dream bull with my custom lefty Model 70 in 7X57 built by Shaenrifles (thanks Shaen!) Using the Barnes 139gr LRX. Shot the bull in his bed and he never moved.

What part of Alaska?
Tell story of moose. And story on rifle( I'm a lefty also)! Stock?
Great bull! Thanks for sharing pics.
Dandy, looks like a beauty.
Magnificent! That is one helluva bull. Truly a dream bull. He has it all and will score really well. Congrats
Congratulations that is an outstanding Bull. Well done sir.
If he is as big in person as he is in the picture that is
hugh. ๐
One heck of a nice swamp donkey...
Obviously you have a gross misunderstanding of what it takes to actually kill BIG game...a 7x57...really?
(FYI that was sarcasm)
Congrats! With the 275 Rigby no less, extra style points!
That is a great bull. What that 7x57 did does not surprise me.
That's a very nice moose. Some day when I grow up.....
Lefty to lefty a beautiful moose!
Shane builds great rifles too.

Congrats to you- moose is on my bucket list and that one certainly would do!! Beautiful bull.
Congrats Chip, canโt wait to hear โthe rest of the storyโ
Nice job! that's an awesome bull, can't wait to here the story.
Wow - now that's a monster! Great job with a classic cartridge. My back hurts just looking at it - but I see a horse in the background. Surprised FB still has the photo up.
Extra bad ass points all around! The moose, the cartridge, the rifle, all legit! Please do tell more story!
That's a very nice bull!
This was a very good year for trophy moose in the 40 Mile Country!
Our party took two big bulls with bows and one with a handgun plus a large grizzly boar.
Good weather certainly helped as we had bulls responding to calls on the 8th.
Any moderate cartridge will do the job on moose if you do your part. A good lung shot and it's over.
Our two archery bulls ran about 25 yards at most.
Not just your dream, mine too...Congrats! ๐
Did you get squirrel too?! Very nice! Congrats!
Wow! Congratulations on a very nice bull! Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Youre fulfilling my dreams!
How about a story about the hunt?
-Jake

Wow man absolutely amazing animal there great work what a bad ass adventure congratulations!
Beautiful moose, congratulations.
Let's hear a story!
Congrats on a great bull!
Beautiful bull. Congratulations
Great cartridge to boot. ๐
Awesome bull! Great to see someone use a regular octane rifle/load combo and to see that it actually didnโt bounce off such an animal as much of the internet would have you believe!
Congrats!
Todd
Those big Alaskans are unreal.
Very cool.
Fantastic bull sir congrats on an awesome hunt and beautiful bull!
Great bull! Congrats on the awesome hunt!
Awesome bull! Cool rifle! I'm a lefty and a 7x57 fan so I'm double jealous! Congrats Sir!
Ron
Nice bull, Congratulations.
That's a very nice moose. Some day when I grow up.....
+1!
Congratulations of a nice Bull! I am a enthusiastic 7x57 fan myself. I own two, I have one in Ruger M77 MKII and a sportified Peruvian Model 98 made in Brno Checklasolvokia (1938). Love the caliber, great performance with low recoil; that continues to perform beyond expectations. If I were in your shoes I would be popping my buttons with pride!

Nice Job!
CJ
Very nice bull, congrats.
Beaut.
Way to get it done.
My brother, just saw this......WOW!
Dang it. Bucket list for sure. Congrats on a great bull and thanks for sharing.
Thanks everyone. The rest of the story is pretty simple. Spotted the bull at about 700 yards and knew that he was everything that I had dreamed of. Closed the distance to 546 yards and got set up with my rifle over the guides tripod and watched him as he bedded down. Waited for an hour and a half and finally decided to shoot him while he was bedded. Sent a round and he never moved. Doesnt get any better!
Wow - just a monster bull of a lifetime. It looks like a battle just to get the rack through the doors. Congrats 546 times!
congrats on a fine moose. I hope you make the best of the meat and get as much of it as you can to your freezer. Nothing, IMO, beats moose meat.
Not much enjoyment in a back country moose hunt after you pull the trigger! IMHO never had hired packers though!
Like what my bud said never going to be the guy responsible for all that work again! He said I will still help but they cant blame it on me. Any more I want a easy good eating bull or none at all!
Congrats great bull!
Dude that sounds like an incredible adventure congrats !
Outstanding Huntr, big congratulations.

This may be true for people that have killed many moose - I however enjoyed the entire hunt (which included 2 days of packing the bull out of the most spectacular country imaginable)......but hey thatโs just me.
Great bull and congratulations!!!
PennDog
nice bull but why you sitting so far away from it, isn't it dead ?
What an awesome bull moose! Wow! Congrats๐ท
