How long has Brian ranched in Idaho near Emmett? I grew up with some magnets at that time that owned ranches in Emmett and Cascade. It was a corporation then,MacGregor Triangle but the Emmett ranch was MacGregor Land and Livestock.I drank my first Beer with Dave, haven't talked to him in two years though, and Jock was Jock in those days. Since Gordon died,Jock has the Emmett ranch and Dave has most of Cabarton in Cascade but I never heard of Brian Pierce untill I bought a big bore 454 Casull and read the rags.I know quite a few from Emmett/Ola and Sweet or at least did as most are selling out because of the influx of foreigners. Don't blame 'em..Boise is a mess now days as well as Emmett.Just curious where Brian actually lives and how long he has been there.May have even had a Beer with him many/many years ago. Jeez..Had to edit as I spelled Brian wrong. Jayco

Hi Jayco, We were foreigners when we visited ID, but we were sure treated like family. _

gperry: you are right on! Brian is the closest thing to Elmer that we have living anymore. Never met Brian (yet) but would like him and get along if I ever did. A six-gun carrying working Western rancher who actually still works cattle horseback, hunts, writes well with first hand knowledge. (and a lot of it).
Yup, I see a lot of old Elmer when I read Brian Pearce. ACK375IMP

A year ago at the Shot Show I saw Brian walking towards the Leupold booth and walked up to him and introduced my self and where I was from. I asked if I could talk to him for a minute or two as I knew he would be busy. Brian was very warm and open and answered all of my questions. I really admire a man who will take time with someone who is not a pro but a novice working with reloading and Colts. Great guy. Phil

I really like Brian's writing and I have learned alot from his articles. I may just cruise up to the Boise gunshow one of these years just to shake the man's hand.

I've known Brian for over 20 yrs. He is one of the best people I've ever known. He's honest and you can teust what he writes because he's actually done it. It's really interesting to talk to him because he's so knowledgeable. In my opinion he's a lot more sensible than Elmer keith.

like BP's articles seems to be the real deal about Western hunting on horseback and you couldn't get this Redneck on one of those 4 legged creatures,i'd have to say his style is more Jordan than Keith.
Bangflop! another skinning job due to .260 and proper shot placement.

I like Brian Pearce also. He tends to write about subjects that interest me, like big-bore handguns and leverguns........

Yeah, with all the Montana and Alaska boys posting here, we Idahoans had to get on here to raise the curve...
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

I don't see how anybody could not like the writings of Brian Pearce.
I think him Barsness, Haviland and Venturino are top notch. What the hell happened to Rick Jamison?

Nah Idaho is the tick fever state and full of Vandals. Pure coincidence that Ted Trueblood, Clyde Ormond, Pierre (Albert) Pulling and others did so well there.
